How it all began
In the 1970’s company founder Ralph Pfeiffer decided to train as an orthopaedic technician because he loved dealing with a wide range of people as well as helping and supporting those in need. During and after his apprenticeship he helped WWII casualties to lead more enjoyable, significantly improved lives, supporting them by making individually customized artificial limbs.

An idea was born
The motivation behind his commitment to helping people in need originated from his moving experiences with his customers, who were able to participate in everyday life again thanks to his work and so reclaim their previous lives. In 1977 Ralph Pfeiffer founded the family-run company “nordiska”, born from an idea which came from Sweden. He began offering simple, comfortable wooden clogs to the German healthcare sector, developing the first “Klimaflex” products for the German market.

Handover to the second generation
Inspired and driven by Ralph Pfeiffer’s mission to “provide healthcare workers with an easier, improved life thanks to clogs” his three sons Dag, Jarl and Erik Pfeiffer took over the family-run company in 2015. They decided to help people who care for others. The founder’s three sons are passionate about enabling them to work in a way which allows them to enjoy a better quality of life.
